At iNERDE, we recognize that Africa’s future hinges on those who acquire twenty-first-century skills e.g. creativity, problem-solving, technical, and communication skills. This requires preparing the next generation to engage with technology and related fields from an early age. Unfortunately, we’re falling short. That is why, after several months of hard work, we believe we have the right strategy to EMPOWER and IMPACT the future of millions of youths in Africa.

Going forward, iNERDE will address Africa’s pressing need for effective STEM education through two platforms: curriculum development & dissemination AND professional development of teachers & educators in Africa. Our goal is to get One Million youths from all social and economical background and gender in Africa to participate in iNERDE’s “Ntomo Innovation Academy” by the year 2030.
To achieve this, we have implemented three important strategic organizational changes:

Enrolling more participants from various African nations in our programs.
Providing an ever-expanding force of locally based trainers in order to significantly increase our presence in different parts of Africa.
Generating sustainable revenues that will support our expansion objectives.

“NerdyBox“
To reach our goal, we are transforming our tailored STEM focused-lessons plans into a portable package that can be implemented in diverse cities and countries called “NerdyBox“. This product will enable schools and organizations to license the curriculum and receive training from iNERDE and to run their own programs. This leverages our unique value – the curriculum and the implementation of a new educational method in the African context. Through “NerdyBox“, iNERDE holds the promise of generating revenues to improve organizational sustainability and to further its mission objectives.

iNERDE-led Summer Camp in Bamako
With your new aim focusing on expansion, we decided to suspend iNERDE-led summer camp for this year (2018) ONLY. Our priority for the rest of 2018, is to test the market with the new model which will require us to run our programs during the academic school year in select schools. We will share more details about this in the near future. More specifically, we will resume iNERDE-led summer camp in Bamako during summer 2019. Our “Ntomo Innovation Academy” summer program served as a method to learn from our own experience. That is why we will keep providing that service in Bamako, Mali for a very limited number of youths each year.

We are in a GREAT position with a lot of opportunities ahead. Now that’s what I call hope!
